Golf Outing
This is a report sent by Helen Byrne and her team who represented the Galway Branch at a recent golf outing at the Heritage Golf Club:
“Just to let you know we had a terrific day in the Heritage Golf Club yesterday despite the awful weather. Unfortunately we didn't bring home the cup - it went to Dublin. We did have some success though with Anneta winning the longest drive!! It started to rain as we were teeing off on our first hole and we battled wind and rain all the way through the 18 holes. It was a long course and it was 5.00 pm when we finished.
Our spirits were soon lifted with a beautiful 3 course meal. It was an extremely well organised event and everyone was high in their praise of Mr. O'Connor who sponsored it. The day ran like clockwork - despite the big crowd - from the moment we arrived and were served tea and scones to the final cup of tea at 8.00 pm when we took our leave and headed home.
We were proud and delighted to represent Galway.
Thank you very much for inviting us to participate.
