Bloom Festival 2011

49 members and friends attended the Bloom Festival - a great day’s celebration of food and horticulture, set in the Phoenix Park. As our President Mary Mc Aleese said, “It is a festival loved by young and old, whether dedicated green-fingered gardeners or nervous novices eager to expand their skills, Bloom showcases world-class creative talent from so many walks of Irish life”.

We stopped off at Tyrellspass Castle for delicious early morning tea/coffee and scones. We enjoyed the first sign of summer as the temperatures soared to 25degrees. Some of our members will be busy in the garden for a few days as they came away laden down with pots and plants.
