Lecture:
Natural and Social History of the Burren
Members of the R.T Galway Branch attended an inspiring and thought provoking lecture by Gordon DArcy on the flora, fauna and built heritage of the Burren. Gordon has a profound interest in every aspect of the Burren landscape including the social history – customs, religious rites, farming and the way of life of the inhabitants of the Burren.
The mysticism of the rich echo system of the Burren was captured by Gordon through his in-depth knowledge and extensive archive of exquisite slides.
We now look forward to a day’s outing with Gordon in May 2012.
