General Medical Examination

A number of our members lost their automatic entitlement to a Medical Card on reaching the age of 70 in 2009. Negotiations on this matter are on going. In the meantime it is important that our members would take care of their health by taking a General Medical Examination perhaps once a year.

A General Medical Examination includes:

Medical History

Physical Examination of heart and lungs

Weight and height is recorded

Blood Pressure

One Blood test for Cholesterol, Diabetes, Prostate,

Full Blood count (anemia)

Urine Sample can be given at the clinic if necessary

Doctor’s Fee: The usual fee is from 40euro to 60 euro. A longer consultation may cost more.

Repeat prescription: A fee for repeat prescriptions varies from doctor to doctor. The usual fee is 10 euro – for administration purposes.
