On
the 1st
of February, it being the first day of spring, the RTA Music Group
adjourned for the day from the Galway Education Centre to the
restaurant at the Galway Crystal Heritage Centre to enjoy a delicious
lunch in the luxurious surroundings there. Most of our current
members were able to attend and we were delighted to be joined also
by a few of those who are unable to attend regularly at present and
even by some new members about to join us, so there were thirty-one
of us on the day. The restaurant staff could not have been friendlier
or more helpful, especially Elaine and Isaac. We had a fine menu to
choose from and afterwards helped ourselves to the tasty desserts.
After a lovely lunch we were given the use of the grand piano there and our musical director Mary Tansey entertained us by playing several pieces for us including a composition of her own. Then she accompanied us in our most enjoyable sing-song for the remainder of the afternoon. Caroline Kelly too, entertained us with one of her poetry pieces. Thanks to Kathleen Noone, our photographer for the day, we have a great record of our get-together.
We
enjoyed the day so much that we are already looking forward to our
next lunch outing.
